declarations & volunteer needs for next week
Good evening WW Wave parents and swimmers,
Meet declarations for next week’s two meets are due by tomorrow, Sunday June 12, at 11 am.
There are still 46 swimmers (41% of the team) for whom we have no declaration for Tuesday vs Shallowford Lakes and 57 swimmers (51% of the team) for whom we have no declaration for Thursday vs Forsyth Country Club. If you haven’t yet declared “attending” or “not attending” we would be very grateful if you would do so now. We are not accepting late responses as it creates a lot of extra work for coaches and a few parent volunteers.
We need a few more volunteers for Tuesday’s home meet against Shallowford Lakes:
1.bullpen organizers: 6&u boys, 7-8 boys (1st and 2nd half of meet), 9-10 girls (1st and 2nd half of meet) (*if your child is in these age groups we expect you to volunteer for this)
2.lane parents for 10&u swimmers (2 needed for 1st half of meet; 1 needed for 2nd half of meet)
3.two hospitality coordinators
*You can read a brief job description for these jobs on the sign-up page – hover over the white “i” within the black circle, to the right of the listing.
Sign up in Swimtopia > Meets & Events > Sign Up Calendar > Job Signup (green button). Most of the spots are filled, so THANK YOU to those who have already volunteered!
Stroke judges: if you are new to judging in our league you need to “shadow” one of our experienced GFSL judges at least once (even if you have a lot of experience in other leagues or in USA swimming) before judging on your own. We want to make sure that your judgments will be consistent with our other judges, and that you understand why we make certain calls and not others.
Volunteer needs for Thurs vs. FCC:
1.bullpen organizers: 7-8 boys (1st and 2nd half of meet), 7-8 girls (1st half of meet), 9-10 boys (2nd half of meet), 9-10 girls (1st and 2nd half of meet),
2.Lane parents: 1 lane parent (1st half of meet), 3 lane parents (2nd half of meet)
3.1 ribbon organizer
It takes a village – we appreciate your help!
