interested in swimming during the year?
Dear Westwood parents,
If your child has any interest in swimming during the year, see below for information on the various levels (in terms of age, skill, and desired level of commitment) on Winston-Salem’s two USA swim teams, Enfinity & TYDE. An Enfinity flyer for their "Blue Groups" is attached, as well.
NOTE: Enfinity registration opens THIS Thurs July 15. If you want to register, be sure to do so online as soon as registration opens. It will fill up quickly.
ENFINITY AQUATIC CLUB: GROUPS & LEVELS

AQUA FARM: Perfect for kids ages 4+ who have taken swim lessons and want to continue; 30 min/2x week
BLUE GROUPS
Sky (ages 4-12 yr): practice offered 45 min 3x per week; required: 2 practices/week minimum.
Marine (ages 7-14 yr): practice offered for 1 hour x 4 days per week. Required: 2 practices/week minimum.
Royal (ages 9-13 yr). Must be able to swim a legal 500 freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke, a 100 Butterfly, dive from blocks, do flips turns and have at least one JO (state championship) qualifying time. Practice offered for 75 min 5x/week. Required: 3x/week.
BLACK GROUPS
Beta(11-15 yr) and Sigma II (13+ yrs) These groups are intended for swimmers who enjoy swimming but do other sports or activities during the year.
Beta: swim offered 3x/week for 90-120 min + dry land workouts 2x/week. Required minimum: 2x/week.
Sigma II is a great way to keep in shape for high school and summer league swimming. Practices offered 5x/week for 1 hr 45 min + optional dry land workouts 3x/week. Required attendance minimum: 2x/week.
Delta: (ages 11-14 yr) Designed for athletes who are highly committed to swimming. Practice offered: 6x/week for 90-120 minutes in-water + dry land workouts 2x/week. Required: minimum of 3x/per week.
Sigma (age 13+, swimmers must show a high level of commitment to swimming). Practices offered 8x/ week for 60-120 minutes in-water + dry land workouts 3 days per week. Minimum attendance: 5x/week.
If your child wants to practice with either team a couple of times before making a decision, I’m sure the coaches would be happy to accommodate him/her. Contact a coach on the team's website.
